Girard NV Napa Valley Brut Rosé Sparkling Wine

Our latest limited release Brut Rosé Sparkling Wine entices with a pale salmon hue. Delicate aromas of fresh strawberries, raspberries, and citrus zest lead to a crisp, lively palate with red fruit flavors and hints of brioche. Fine bubbles and a persistent mousse provide a creamy texture. This sparkler is a refreshing and well-balanced wine, perfect for celebrating special moments.

This Girard Brut Rosé Sparkling is comprised of 100% Pinot Noir grapes which were harvested in the cool early morning hours to preserve their delicate flavors and vibrant acidity. The fruit was then gently whole-cluster pressed. Select press cuts for the cuvée and taille (heart and tails of the juice) were allowed to settle and clarify separately before alcoholic fermentation.

The secondary fermentation – which creates the sparkle – was carried out in the bottle according to the traditional techniques of Méthode Champenoise. The wine was aged en tirage (on lees in the bottle) for a full 24 months to develop yeasty, brioche character and full-palate richness. The sediment was then removed by disgorgement, and the bottles toppedwith the liqueur d’expédition of reserve wine and a dosage of 7 g/L for a smooth finish.

Grapes for this cuvee were sourced entirely from vineyards in the cool Carneros District in the southern tip of the Napa Valley. This AVA is renowned for its cool climate which is influenced by the proximity to the San Pablo Bay. Well-draining clay loam soils are a mix of volcanic and marine sediment which contribute to the unique character of wines from this exceptional location which is ideal for growing Pinot Noir grapes for sparkling and still wines alike.
